A Conversation can Change your Life

Have you ever had a conversation that changed your life? Maybe about deciding where to go to college? When you decided you were moving forward in a relationship? Or that you weren’t?

Simple Conversations change the trajectory of our lives every day, but we often do not take the time for important conversations when people are struggling with housing. They can be challenging, uncomfortable, and hard to navigate in a demanding system pressed for time.

The conversations are often left out of the success story on housing people. We focus on the number of people we exit from our systems after they have been experiencing the trauma of homelessness, but we fail to share the stories of how we helped someone determine another path.

Training your community in Diversion and Rapid Resolution prepares people for these conversations, to make the most of every interaction with a client toward reaching home.

Our trainings engage people in learning not from manuals and directives, but with generating buy-in through stories and shared understanding as well as interactive enjoyment. Participants are challenged to stretch their comfort zones and critically think about the society and systems we want to see in the world.

We believe that people engage best when they are in conversation with ideas and encouraged to have fun. The focus of the material is on developing practical tools backed up by research.
